SELECTED REVIEWS

  • “Director/co-writer Dan Bush has more than proven his ability to twist and turn through mental breakdown and reconstruction with underground favorites like The Signal and The Reconstruction of William Zero” – Richard Whittaker, The Austin Chronicle
  • “Bush’s direction really hones in on the horror of Sybil’s situation and you always feel like you’re seeing things through her eyes, even when the situations spiral out of her control. Genuinely unsettling and chilling, The Dark Red is a tour-de-force piece of genre cinema that deserves to become much more than just a cult classic.” – Pip Ellwood-Houghes, Entertainment Focus
  • “Director Dan Bush keeps things tight and simple. And while the story never takes a moment to get boring, it doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles to make it effective” – AintItCoolNews
  • “The Reconstruction of William Zero is likely to be one of my favorites of the festival… Bush manages to get the spine tingling without gross-out shocks” – Jay Seaver, eFilm Critic
  • “Another quiet indie using sci-fi tropes for thoughtful exploration of wholly real emotions, Dan Bush’s The Reconstruction of William Zero introduces a geneticist so overwhelmed by grief, he creates a clone of himself to help shoulder the burden of living. – John DeFore, The Hollywood Reporter
  • “The Vault is a combination heist and horror picture; and it’s the rare genre mash-up where each element’s equally strong. Director Dan Bush and his screenwriting partner Conal Byrne start the film with a daylight robbery sequence so pulse-pounding that it’s almost a shame when the masked monsters arrive” – Noel Murray,, Los Angeles Times.
  • “Dan Bush is a gifted filmmaker and he proves that once again with this twisty tale.” – Tyler Doupe, Dread Central

LERA LYNN

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 5e29f1748f9fb-1024x576.webp

Lera Lynn has spent a decade blurring the boundaries between genres, carving out a sound inspired by art-pop, indie-folk, and the outer edges of American roots music. She’s a singer/songwriter. A road warrior. A multi-instrumentalist and producer capable not only of collaborating with her heroes, as she did on 2018’s Plays Well With Others, but also of forging an entire album without outside help, as she did on 2020’s On My Own, Nothing, though, could have prepared Lynn for the lessons learned during motherhood. She welcomed her first son during the early months of the pandemic, ushering in a new era of shifting priorities, strange endings, and new beginnings. Inside, she was battling postpartum depression. Outside, a bigger picture began taking shape: a feeling of interconnectedness, of cyclic renewal, of the knowledge that every beginning is an end and every end is a beginning. Those realizations coalesced into Something More Than Love a record filled with synthesizers, lush soundscapes, the pop-noire punch of Lynn’s voice, and the most dynamic melodies of her career. Co-created with her partner, Todd Lombardo,

Something More Than Love turns Lynn’s experience with absolute surrender — surrendering oneself to the trials and triumphs of motherhood — into a universal record about the experiences that bind us together. It’s the story of a life cycle that repeats, every termination point becoming a starting line, every edge giving way to the circular slope of the ouroboros. In 2023 look for new music from Lera via The Mantawauk Caves podcast on iHeart Radio and SEGA’s Endless Dungeon.
